The UNM Championship Golf Course, a modified parkland design by Red Lawrence, is hilly but walkable, although it can be a real test for anyone with a heavy bag. Huge multi-tiered greens, some 50 yards deep, mean getting on in regulation may not be enough. Ranked among the Top 10 collegiate courses in America and highly rated by Zagat. Hosted NCAA regional and national championships. Hosted the 2008 NCAA Women’s Golf Championship. PGA Tour players Tiger Woods, Tim Herron and Phil Mickelson played here as collegians. Ranked No. 10 on Golf Digest’s Top 10 in New Mexico.
